Peter Ostrum was born November 1, 1957 in Dallas, Texas. Ostrum was a 13-year old in Cleveland when he won the starring role of Charlie. While he had fun making the movie, he didn't feel a passion for acting. After filming, he turned down a three-picture deal to return home. Ostrum graduated from the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and now tends to dairy cows in upstate New York. He and wife Loretta have one daughter, Helenka, born in 1992 and a son
